Windows xp firewall exceptions grayed out




















Kudos to Rohit Khurana for the post above solving the issues of a greyed out firewall option. I had virus that was very hard to get rid of and in the process turned off my firewall. At this time you can edit it, delete it, or add another rule using the same procedure as outlined above.

You can have as many rules as you have applications that need one. If your application needs a different port open, say port for Remote Desktop, then use the appropriate port.
